A community volunteer is creating a new app that brings together local businesses and charities.
Daniel Parkin, 53, is a trustee of the Purbeck Youth Community Centre and works as a volunteer at number of non profit organisations in the area.
The app will allow for businesses to sign up and offer staff paid volunteer work at select charities throughout the year.
Although Daniel tells us their is still a way to go before the app is available to the public, he said: “The feedback so far is really good”.
“I’ve been speaking to a business in Sailsbury, who says they’re prepared to give all staff up to four days a year of paid volunteer work”
Daniel believes that businesses, big and small, have a social responsibility to the community. This app looks like the perfect opportunity to encourage it.
‘Community Ripple’ is set to for release in the near future, but an exact date is yet to be confirmed.
