A Martial Arts studio, Ki Aikido in Poole, is being used to help people’s mental health.
The martial arts aim to achieve mind and body co-ordination with breathing practice and meditation.
The exercise provides a healthy outlook and coping mechanism to those struggling with anxiety.
The ‘Mind‘ charity for mental health states that:
“In any given week in England, 1 in 6 people get diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder.”
Sue Achinhead, owner of the studio and teacher, further explains how practicing the art helps with reducing these stresses.
