A controversial plan to build an eighty million pound hospital on farm land near Bournemouth University is being debated today.
A major council planning committee is discussing the idea for the Nuffield Hospital at Highmoor Farm.
The plans for the hospital have upset residents in Talbot Village who have repeatedly pleaded with the council not to build on the land.
The farm is home to cattle and flocks of sheep which should the hospital plans go ahead, could be forced to move to a different location. The prime development land is right on the doorstep of Bournemouth University.
Fears that the development would bring too many people to the protected heathland and that it would not protect the green infrastructure, meant that the councillors rejected the multi million pound plans originally back in October 2023.
