New Poole Town FC Chairman of Supporters Club, Dan Wilson, is ‘excited’ and is looking to inject something new with plans to lean on social media for more interactions.
Wilson was appointed as Chair of the supporters’ clubs this week and wants to be able to put on events and raise much-needed money for the club.
The Dolphins next game is to pay what you want to in order to try and “generate some desperately needed match-day income.”
In an exclusive interview with Buzz News, Wilson told us what he thinks he can bring to the club and what he aims for himself as he starts this new role.
He said: “As a youngster, I feel I can bring a lot more, especially on the social media side, and hopefully it can be good.
“We worked well with the old chairman, Alex Simpsons, who will still help, but we are just looking to get events done, get people having a good time, and raise some money.”
The Dolphins are currently playing in the Southern League Premier South and sit 10th with 11 wins, seven losses, and two draws.
Wilson spoke about his goals as the chairman of the supporters’ club and what he believes the club can achieve both on and off the pitch in the future.
He said: “It was dormant, but it used to be a very big thing in the past, but recently we have had a resurgent.
“Me and the old chairman, Alex Simpson, just tried to make it grow again, so now we’ve got a committee, and now we will throw events to raise money for the club.
“The purpose of this is to get people together and enjoy good times while raising money.
“Hopefully we can get some good events going, raise some money, and help the club get to their aim of promotion.”
