BBC show Winterwatch is broadcasting from Poole Harbour next week.
The show is hosted by Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan and will air from RSPB Arne in Purbeck.
Naturalist Chris Packham said: “There’s always this lingering misconception that winter is a time of death and decay, where everything has hibernated or migrated, and it couldn’t be further from the truth, there’s always an enormous amount of activity.”
The TV programme, first launched in 2005 by Bill Oddie and Kate Humble, provides an insight into the different Winter wildlife we can expect in Dorset.
BCP Poole Town Councillor Sue Aitkenhead said: “We are so lucky in Poole where we have a beautiful harbour and such a great space for wildlife”
To date, 333 bird species have occurred within the boundaries of Poole Harbour.
Mrs Aitkenhead said “Its great that everyone else from around the country can benefit from that and enjoy it.”
The show will start on Tuesday, January 16 at 8pm on BBC Two.
