Poole Town’s new man Rafa Ramos believes the team can continue their good away form when they travel to 19th-placed Tiverton Town tomorrow.
The Dolphins come into the encounter off the back of a dramatic 3-2 win away at Frome Town last weekend.
Jamie Whisken’s header in the final minute of the game rewarded the Dolphins with their second win on the road this season and moved them two points off the play-off places.
Striker Ramos has challenged Poole to break their losing hoodoo at a ground they have failed to win at since 2020.
He said: “If we play our game and be clinical when needed we can definitely bring the three points back to Poole.”
Since joining the Dolphins back in September from National League South side Salisbury, Ramos has scored twice in six league appearances.
The win against Frome last weekend has lifted the mood in the camp, the frontman revealed.
He said: “I feel last week’s win was massive and very much needed after drawing so many games in a row.
“The feel around the changing room and around the club at this moment in time is very good. Once we click and understand each other’s way of playing things will flow and we will only grow!”
The striker who scored 28 goals for Gosport Borough last season is hoping he can replicate this impressive stat with Poole after a fast start to life on the south coast.
“Everyone has been so supportive since my arrival; I have really enjoyed it so far,” Ramos said.
“I feel I have contributed and added strength and depth in the squad. I could’ve probably added a few more goals but they will come with more game time.”
The fans have played a huge part in Poole’s success on the road this season and Ramos hopes to reward them with a goal tomorrow.
He said: “With the support from the fans I’m always itching to score in front of them just to hear the noise behind the goals.”
One fan in particular, Dom Todd, has been following the club as far back as their days in the National League South.
Todd has also experienced Poole’s poor results at Tiverton and knows how tough of a place it is to go.
He said: “I’m not optimistic at all as we never win there.
“They’re also going to have a new manager bounce, so it’ll be a tough one for sure.”
The Dolphins make the long trip down to the Ian Moorcroft Stadium tomorrow with kick-off in the Southern League fixture at 3pm.
A win would see Poole move level on points with Havant and Waterlooville in fifth if the Hawks fail to beat Walton & Hersham.
