Poole Town midfielder Tyrique Clarke has warned his side to avoid complacency when they travel to struggling Frome this weekend.
The Dolphins, winless in their last four, will look to take advantage of the hosts’ poor form in their bid to move back into the Southern League Premier South play-off spots.
Frome sit 20th and inside the relegation zone, having picked up just one win from their first 11 matches.
“It’s a massive chance for three points but the league is so tight so we can’t take this game lightly,” said Clarke.
“We have to go there pretending it’s top of the league and then we will come out with three points.”
Steve Tully’s side started the season brightly, chalking up three wins from their opening five games, but have since slipped adrift of the top five.
Clarke added: “It’s been a bit split in two halves, the first half of the season was good. The last three or four have been not so good but we’re around the playoffs so it’s good all round.”
The winner of Poole’s last two goal of the month awards, Clarke is keen to continue his scoring streak.
“I’m trying to get one goal per month,” he said. “So I’ve got two more games to get goal of the month for this month.”
The Dolphins kick off at Badgers Hill tomorrow at 3pm.
