The Winton branch of the Salvation Army is ramping up its efforts to support the homeless as the festive season approaches.
The organisation is working alongside a variety of different homeless charities across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole to deliver a range of initiatives to our local homeless and vulnerable individuals.
The charity aims to give 5,000 toys to children from vulnerable backgrounds through a church-run toy drive, as well as offering a warm Christmas meal to any homeless individuals in need on the December 23.
James Hill, a Major in the Salvation Army, said: “As the nights get darker and colder more people in need come here for mental health support and just company.”
