Owen Camber, driver for OneGlobal Racers, tasted victory in the clubman class of the 2024 Grand Prix series which was held at Buckmore Park Circuit.
The 19-year-old driver, from Bournemouth, races within the Club100 Senior Championship and has been involved with karting since the age of four.
The young British driver, along with teammates from OneGlobal Racers, competed in a three-hour endurance race in October.
Camber and his team were triumphant in the same race back in July, and were delighted to repeat their success.
In recent years, Camber has excelled in his karting ability. This year, his best result so far was a 6th place finish at Buckmore Park in the Club100 senior lightweight sprints, but it’s Camber’s aim to be on the podium.
He said: “This season has not gone to plan for me in Club100. I have been struggling to achieve my goal of standing on the top of the podium.”
“With one race left my aim is to secure a podium finish in order to feel some success from the 2024 sprint Championship.”
Josh Hall, a teammate of Camber who is in his first seasons of senior karting, was delighted to retain the trophy.
He said: “It was like a roller coaster of emotions; it all went from bad to good in a short space of time.”
“It’s a great feeling to win the trophy again of course. I’m really enjoying my karting.”
The most senior member of OneGlobal Racers, Josh’s father David Hall, was proud of his team’s victory.
Hall said: “The feeling of winning never gets old. So proud of the team in what was a tough race in mixed conditions.”
An endurance race requires impeccable coordination and strategy: Hall outlined how important teamwork was on this occasion.
He said: “The team worked together really professionally. We deserved to win the race and that’s all down to hard work and communication.”
OneGlobal Racers and Camber now turn their attention to 2025, with plans to compete for the 2025 Grand Prix Series title in the pro class at Buckmore Park.
