AFC Bournemouth U18s fall to Norwich City in FA Youth Cup

January 15, 2025 //  by Dexter Allison

AFC Bournemouth U18s were beaten 3-1 by an impressive Norwich City side in the FA Youth Cup, with help from a Finlay Corke brace.

An under-hit back pass to the goalkeeper from centre-half Teo Minchev was anticipated excellently by the Canaries’ number 11, taking a touch past the keeper, who took him out in the box, resulting in an early penalty.

Corke dispatched the spot kick comfortably in under five minutes to give Norwich U18s the lead.

A great bit of hold-up play by the Corke laid the ball into the path of the Norwich number seven, La’Sean Sealey, who placed his shot into the bottom left-hand corner from just outside the box before half-time.

Right on the hour mark, misery compiled for the young Cherries as Finlay Corke secured his brace, and make it 3-0 to Norwich.

Forward Charlie Stevens was able to score a consolation goal for Bournemouth, in the form of a penalty, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.

This result means that AFC Bournemouth do not progress to the next round of the FA Youth Cup.
