Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic are set to resume their rivalry in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open.

One of the most fascinating matchups in tennis’ recent memory, Alcaraz comes into the match with a chance of completing a career grand slam, while Djokovic is in search for a record-extending 25th major.

While the Spanish star may be the favourite for the match, Djokovic cannot be counted out as he continues his fruitful partnership with Andy Murray as his coach.

Alcaraz will likely be the fresher of the pair going into the match, as the 21-year-old defeated 15th seed Jack Draper in the fourth round, with the Brit retiring from the match with injury.

Djokovic made it to the quarterfinals with a 6-3 6-4 7-6 win over 24th seed Jiri Lehecka 6-3 6-4 7-6(4) to set up what could be another classic matchup between the pair.

The winner of this match will face Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals after the German second seed beat American Tommy Paul 7-6(1) 7-6(0) 2-6 6-1.

How do Alcaraz and Djokovic compare on their head-to-head?

The 37-year-old Serbian has faced off against the 21-year-old Spaniard seven times so far, with Djokovic leading the H2H 4-3.

Paris was the last setting for an epic between the pair, with Djokovic winning the Olympic final 7-6(3) 7-6(2).

Djokovic also won the last meeting on an outdoor hard court at the Cincinnati Masters 5-7 7-6(7) 7-6(4)

However, Alcaraz has won the last two meetings at grand slams after defeating the Serb in the last two Wimbledon finals.

Who will come out on top this time? You can follow the match between Djokovic and Alcaraz live here or by heading to the official Buzz news X and BlueSky accounts.
