The Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) welcomes the 65th edition of the UK International Dance Championship.
This is one of the most anticipated events in the dance industry where top dancers from around the world will compete.
Marcella Varietà, one of the competitors, said: “I really want to show what we have practiced for all this time. We want to show real Latin flavour.”
She added: “Of course we want to win, but we want to show people a different flavour of the dance.”
Jose Luis San Blas Marmol, her dancing partner, said: “And also I think that we want to make people fall in love with us, for us this is the most important thing because if someone loves you it’s more easy to enjoy when you are dancing.”
Over 4000 participants will battle for the prestigious Dancing Crown, and a record 10,000 spectators are expected to watch the event unfold.
Pamela Miguelle, one of the judges, said: “Everyday there is a competition for amateurs and professionals in ballroom and Latin American and also there’s smooth.”
There is also options for professionals and amateurs can dance together as well as solo competitions.
Pamela added: “There are many, many judges from all over the world.”
High-energy performances and spectacular choreography will highlight the week-long event.
