A senior lecturer in psychology at Bournemouth University has warned against the dangers of online casino games and in person gambling machines.
Speaking exclusively to BUzz News following her recent research for GambleAware ‘Relative risk of gambling products within Great Britain’ Dr Ruijie Wang revealed “Land based electronic gaming machines and online casino games carry the highest risk of harm.
“Demographically, young adults aged 18-34 used gaming machines at book makers and gambling in casinos compared to adults aged 55+.”
Dr Wang spoke on policies that could help counter this “There needs to be a focus on land based machines and online casino games. Reducing machine availability and slowing spin speed would be beneficial.”
More updates on Dr Wang’s exclusive interview to follow.
