The scheduled rugby game between Bournemouth Lions and Winchester RFC was postponed on the 11th January due to a frozen pitch.
Lions captain, Grant Hancox said that the postponement of the fixture is not what the club needs.
He said: “Winchester is a tough place to go.
“It does put pressure on the mental aspect that the game will be re-arranged on a weekend where, at this level, the lads have made plans because it was a free weekend.”
Hancox also mentioned that pressure may be applied to the selection element of the team based on the availabilities.
When asked about his teammates, Hancox stated that the squad has never been more positive, especially after currently sitting on an 11-win streak in the Region 2 South Central league.
Hancox has captained this side for the past three years, but has recently spent a spell out injured.
The skipper highly praised his second-in-command Callum McKenzie
“It’s really tough, you can only impact so much from the touchline.
“Thankfully we have an amazing vice-captain (Callum McKenzie).
“Allowing him to develop his relationship with the lads is really important”
Bournemouth Rugby face Newbury this Saturday at Chapel Gate, the match kicks-off at 2pm.
