Matvei Morozov, Student at Bournemouth university, has been selected to represent Great Britain in the World Under-24 Ultimate Championships (WU24).
At just 22- years old, Morozov has been selected for the 5th time to represent his country.
The Championships is taking place in Logrono, Spain from the 21st June- 28th June.
Morozov started playing Ultimate Frisbee when he was only 13-years old and has been passionate about the sport ever since, all the way through to his time at university.
Not only is Morozov a Scholar student but he is also the Captain for Bournemouth’s university Ultimate Frisbee team, Bournemouth Heat.
Matveir Morozov said “I think it’s a really good opportunity to showcase my talent, I know this is a couple of my teammates first times being selected so I’m going to try and take on more of a Captain role but we will see how it goes”.
Buzz News reporter Owen Borseti spoke to Morozov, and this is what he had to say:
When asked what his thoughts were regarding how the coverage of this event could help bring eyes to the sport he said;
“I think we’re at the time right now where it’s getting quite big in the media. All the social media’s are getting on it like instagram and facebook. With a big championship like this, it’s where it can really shine and show the true nature of the sport.”
Matveir Morozov went on to say “I’m really excited, I already know the squad and a lot of my teammates through previous years. It’s going to be a good time”.
