A Bournemouth University student has taken on the challenge of taking a cold plunge every day in February for charity.

Harry Chambers, 22, Oddballs Foundation ambassador for Bournemouth University, has taken on the challenge to raise awareness for testicular cancer.

Harry is going to go in the sea everyday of February to raise money, he has currently raised £717 for the charity and is hoping to reach £1000 by the end of February.

Harry has been an Odd Balls Foundation ambassador since August and will carry on the role till August next year.

The role includes talking to schools and educating them on the importance of being aware of signs and symptoms of testicular cancer.

Every term Harry speaks to six different schools and between September and December last year he spoke to 1000 children on the subject.

When asked why he enjoyed the role, Harry said, “meeting people is probably one of the best things and going round schools and educating people on such an important topic.”

The Odd Balls Foundation was founded in December 2015, it was started to make a different to men’s health around the world.

Harry got his role through the university ambassador programme that the Odd Balls Foundation started in 2018.

They started it as a way to spread information on testicular cancer and reminding men to check without any stigma and embarrassment around it.
