Bryanston School, located in Blandford Forum, has been recognised for its contribution to girl’s football.
As part of the esteemed Equal Access Schools program, Bryanston School was recognised by the Dorset County Football Association for its efforts to promote girls’ football.
Regardless of background, the effort seeks to guarantee that every student has the chance to obtain a high-quality education. Laws, programs, and campaigns are a few examples of these initiatives.
The goal of Bryanston’s football program is to motivate and involve girls of all ages and skill levels.
It gives students the chance to practise, compete, and grow their love for the sport throughout the school year.
“Football’s global appeal lies in its inclusivity, bridging divides across gender, sexuality, ethnicity, age, and ability,” stated Mark Foster, head of football at Bryanston School.
“We are honoured to receive this recognition from the Dorset County FA, which is a testament to the enthusiasm and dedication of all our pupils, whether they engage in football competitively or socially.”
Football training is available to girls three times a week during the spring term. The first and second XI teams participate in the South-West Girls Independent Schools (SWGIS) league and host football competitions and extracurricular activities.
Bryanston is collaborating with The Powerhouse Project to organise the second annual 2025 Sports Conference, which will focus on empowering women and girls through sport, as part of its continuous efforts to promote sports for girls.
Students in Year 8 and up from all around Dorset are welcome to participate in the event, which is scheduled for Friday, March 14.
They will have the chance to network with prominent female figures in the fields of sports coaching, sports journalism, sports business, and sports wellness.
The Powerhouse Project is committed to empowering women through the power of sport.
Nike, the Football Association, Right to Dream, and the Global Institute of Sport are just a few of the major sports groups that it has collaborated with.
It specialises in developing experiences and opportunities that uplift, educate, and empower our community to become leaders by equipping them with the means to make a good difference in the lives of others.
