The Bournemouth University BU Bobcats look to extend their winning streak of 6-0 as they face Southampton Stags in their penultimate game of the season.
The Bobcats will aim to get one step closer to securing the South West division 1 title, which they also won in 2022/23, alongside titles in the Division 2 South West Champions 2021/22 and Division 2 South Conference Champions 2021/22.
However, this year they’re heading in the right direction to win the Division 1 National title for the first time in University history.
Joseph White, a key defensive line player for the BU Bobcats shared his thoughts on the team’s success: “I think what’s contributed the most to this amazing run is the attitude of the players and the coaches. It’s very clear to those who come to watch our games and those who support us, how much we care about the team and especially each other.”
He continued: “We’re keeping everyone accountable for their actions on and off the pitch. The attitude everyone brings to the games and training has allowed us to become a team that’s one formidable force and not one to be messed with”.
When asked what the coaches’ approach to the team’s success, White added: “The main piece of advice we’ve been given is to just keep looking forwards, you know we haven’t won anything just yet so just to keep going and keep focused and not fall lazy.”
With a promising season on the horizon, the BU Bobcats are determined to finish strong and make history with their first ever national title. But for now, all eyes are on Sunday’s crucial clash with the Stags, as the team continues its push for glory.
