Chapel Gate the venue for RAF versus Royal Navy showdown

The Royal Air Force play the Royal Navy in an American Football match on the 14th of March.

The game is scheduled for a 12:00 PM kick off at Chapel Gate.

There is free entry to the event so no tickets are needed.

The two American football teams played each other in an inter-service match in October 2023.

The match was the first game that the Royal Air force ‘Mustangs’ played since being established.

The game finished 24-6 to the Royal Air Force.

A year on from that, the two branches played again. Once again, the RAF came out on top of the Royal Navy.

The scoreline this time was 27-6.

A brief history:

The Royal Navy American Football Association was founded by a small group of people in the end of 2020. The sport has developed inside the Service through frequent training camps and grassroots events. The Royal Airforce American Football side was founded after the Royal Navy’s establishment.

The first forces’ team to be founded was the Jackals of the British Army, this would go onto inspire the RAF and RN to create their own American football sides.
