Christchurch are 14th in the Wessex Premier League and sit well clear of the relegation zone.
Church, however, never seem to be in and amongst the play off spots and it’s led to some questions being asked on how the club can progress.
The big thing they have started to implement is the signing of younger players in a bid to freshen up the current senior squad.
The squad’s average age is the youngest in the Wessex Premier League and is part of a long-term plan the hierarchy are looking to apply.
Vice-Chairman Mike Webster said: “For the last few years it’s been fair to say that progress at the club has been stagnant .”
“But this campaign, we’re undergoing a process of rebuilding the club, both on and off the pitch.”
Webster said: “Our side is full of potential and promise.”
“It’s still early days, but we’re looking to continue laying the foundations this season to ensure we can really kick on next year, and build a really bright future for Christchurch FC.”
A big part of this was to improve the facilities of the club and Webster has spearheaded this cause and made it a priority.
“The Christchurch Development Centre has grown really quickly and it’s now proven it has the potential to be a huge success.”
“We have over 13 teams playing under the ‘Christchurch FC’ banner, and this will continue to grow exponentially as time passes.”
The Church have two of their last three games and host playoff-chasing Baffins Milton Rovers on Saturday.
A big performance is needed for Church to move even clearer of the relegation zone. Yet with a united vision on what the club’s future could hold, everyone at Christchurch FC will be relishing the opportunity to record yet another win at Hurn Bridge Sports Club.
