Park Manor is a care home in Branksome claiming to deliver ‘the finest residential and nursing care in Dorset.’

It re-opened over Christmas after being temporarily closed, and is eager to attract new long-term residents.

It is holding an open day tomorrow, 15th January from 12pm until 4pm, with a tour of the grounds, facilities and rooms.

“We would like to reach out to the wider community and give people a chance to experience Park Manor,” said Kim Harding, general manager of the home.

Constructed in 1884, the building was converted into a care home in the early 1980s.

Prior to that, it was a St. Mary’s convent.

Harding commented: “The rich history of the Manor is well-known in the local area.”

“It’s interesting that we have a number of residents who remember the home as it was when it was a convent.”

In fact, the cinema inside is located in what used to be the nuns’ chapel.

If you can’t make it on the day, feel free to call on 01202 055134, or book a tour online.
