Dolphins set to debut joint managers away to Chertsey Town

Poole Town prepare to debut their new joint managers Joe Lea and Pat Suraci in an away game against mid-table opposition Chertsey Town.

With an impressive 52% win-rate at league rivals Gosport Borough, the duo look to take their talent to Tatnam.

Suraci said: “We didn’t manage to accumulate that win rate overnight.

“We built something at Gosport over a two-year period and when we arrived they were in a similar position to Poole – at the wrong end of the table.”

He added: “It’s important everyone is realistic about this season, and at the moment, our only goal is to remain in this league.”

Suraci emphasised how important it is for the duo to put their own stamp on their side saying: “I think we need to put our own ideas across.

“It will really take time to implement our culture and principles into the team, but over time we will need to keep feeding them in consistently.”

Coming off the back of three points in their last six games, and languishing just four points above the relegation zone in the Southern Premier League, Lea and Suraci aim to stop the Dolphins from sinking further down the table.

“This team and club should never be in 18th place in mid-January with only two wins in the last 14.

Suraci added that the duo are “massively excited and looking forward” of their long term aspirations for the club.

“There is lots of potential and ambition here and we believe over time we can build something that Poole Town fans can be proud of again.”

Chertsey Town will be looking to spoil their first game in charge, however, with a win, draw and a loss in their last three games.

Suraci said: “There are no easy game in this league.

“We’ve played Chertsey already this season and they are a real threat going forward.

“We’ll have to show a lot of organisation and intensity if we want to get anything out of the game.”

The game kicks off tonight at 19:45PM, away at Chertsey, Surrey.
