Margaret Green Animal Rescue have been finding forever homes since 1965.

With 2 locations in Dorset: Church Knowle where they help cats, small animals, equines and farm animals and Lincoln Farm where they help dogs.

A few animals from both centres are listed below but more can be found on the shelters website.

Rufus

Name: Rufus

Breed: Lurcher

Gender: Male

Age: Two years old

MGAR Reference: 55035

If you want to give Rufus his forever home you can view his full profile here.

Rufus arrived at Margaret Green Animal Rescue as a stray so is longing for a place to call home

He can find new things a little nerve-wracking but will still give them a go despite his fears and has earned the nickname “Braveheart” at the shelter.

A spokesperson for Margaret Green Animal rescue added, “The most rewarding thing is when Rufus feels comfortable enough to wiggle over to you with his happy tail wags at the kennel door and we can’t wait to show you this gorgeous boy in all his glory.”

Rufus has enjoyed making fellow canine friends at the shelter and is felt to gain a lot of comfort from living with a calmly confident female dog.

His ideal home will be best suited to an adult only family who understands that he needs to take things at his own pace.

Missy

Name: Missy

Breed: Domestic Shorthair

Gender: Female

Age: Nine years old

MGAR Reference: 55001

If you want to give Missy her forever home you can view her full profile here.

Missy arrived at Margaret Green Animal Rescue because her previous owner had sadly passed away.

A spokesperson for Margaret Green Animal Rescue added, “Although she has only been with us a short while she is settling in and starting to show us her sweet and trusting nature.”

As the shelter only know a small amount about Missy they would like her to go to a quiet, loving home where she can enjoy all the attention of her new owners as the only pet in the home.

Missy would also get long with older, teenage children and would love to have her own access to a safe garden via a cat flap once she has settled in to her new surroundings.

Poppy, Primrose and Pumpkin arrived at Margaret Green Animal Rescue after a member of the public discovered a litter of baby bunnies who appeared to have been left abandoned out in the open.

A spokesperson for Margaret Green Animal Rescue said, “These tiny babies have, quite literally, come on leaps and bounds since then and have become a friendly and highly inquisitive trio, who are full of life and love nothing more than using us as a climbing frame when we enter their enclosure!”

This little trio are very sweet natured rabbits who would love to find a home to call their own.

About Bethany White

Hello my name is Bethany White and I am a 20 year old Multimedia Journalism student at Bournemouth University, originally from Bristol. I currently write stories for Buzz News and report for Nerve TV with the future ambition to be a War Correspondent. I aim to write and broadcast stories about people who do not have a voice in today’s society to give them a chance to get their stories, opinions and views voiced and told to the world. Up to a year ago I found I had no voice or say in today’s world and society and I hope to change this and help as many people as I can to express themselves. I am very proud to have won the BBC Young Reporters Competition in 2022 being chosen as a national winner for my story submission and now having a by-line on the BBC’s website.
