Hamworthy Recreation host Shaftesbury FC at the BJM stadium on Tuesday night in a Dorset Senior Cup semi-final fixture.
The winner will progress to the final of the DSC, meeting either Weymouth or Sturminster Newton United, which is the other semi-final.
Hamworthy Recreation defeated Swanage Town & Herston 4-1, and Shaftesbury won 2-1 against Hamworthy United, in their respective quarter-final fixtures.
The home side for this fixture sit fifth in Wessex Premier League (step five), with 39 points, 12 wins, from 22 games played.
Shaftesbury currently see themselves 18th in the Southern South League (step four), with 27 points, eight wins, from 24 games played.
Although Shaftesbury are a league higher than Hamworthy, the home side have been pushing for promotion to step four of the non-league pyramid, with six wins in eight in all competitions.
They are two points in the playoffs for promotion with 16 games left to play in the league.
The away side, though in 18th, have started to find form in recent league games, with three wins in their last four.
Shaftesbury recently signed former AFC Bournemouth, Portsmouth FC, and Ipswich Town striker, Brett Pitman, who scored just under 200 professional goals in the football league.
Pitman, 36, has recently been enjoying a spell at local Dorset non-league, offering them his skill and experience up top, he’ll be the Rockies’ main threat up top come semi-final day.
The last time these two sides faced off was in last year’s Dorset Senior Cup final.
Hamworthy Recreation came out on top with a 3-1 win against Shaftesbury, making tomorrow’s game that little bit more personal.
Hamworthy will be wanting to secure their ticket to final, in the hopes of a successful cup defence, whereas Shaftesbury will be eager for revenge after last year’s final heartbreak.
Kick-off is tonight at 7:45pm at the BJM stadium.
