AFC Bournemouth star has given his take on the use of a Video Assistant Referee in the Premier League
The Cherries have been awarded the most penalties in the Premier league this season, with forward Justin Kluivert, converting all six penalties he has taken this season.
Kluivert spoke to BUzz news about the importance of VAR, “I think we need to keep it for sure because it is something that is good. I remember a cup game we had at West Ham away which was for sure a handball. So I love to have VAR at the moment.”
He went on to give his take on whether VAR should stay or not, “Obviously if it’s against you – you don’t like it but if it’s for you – you like it, but I would say keep it”
The Netherlands international has admitted changes need to be made to improve refereeing in the premier league, “It can be a bit faster, they have to work on that.”
The Dutchmen joined the cherries in the summer of 2023 from Valencia in a deal worth around £10 million.
Having scored 11 goals in the Premier league this season, Kluivert has become a key player for the Cherries.
