Two Bournemouth University graduates have opened their third Mexican-style restaurant in the Dolphin Centre in Poole.
Owners Arun Kapila-Husband and Zach Mole launched their new store in October, and plan on revamping their menu in the coming weeks.
Zach said: “Were expanding our menu pretty soon, we’ve got a few more items lined up, a bit more customisation, and we plan on introducing alcohol here in the dolphin centre.
The store is both available for customers to dine in, and is available on Deliveroo for takeaway orders.
“We did a staggered launch. We launched in person first, then on Deliveroo, its been steadily betting busier and busier.” Arun said.
Their Birria Tacos are a favourite for many, with their eight hour braised beef creating a memorable taste, and a rich consommé, perfect for dipping.
“Our main thing is our birria tacos. There’s nowhere in the Dorset area that do birria tacos and we wanted to bring this exciting product to the Bournemouth area.” Zach said.
“We help everyone experience something new, something a bit different, something packed with flavour.” Arun added.
The pair opened a pop-up truck in Helch Market in Bournemouth in 2023, which helped them recognise their long term goal to establish a restaurant with store dining, rather than just dealing with takeaway orders.
“We’ve grown quite quickly in the last year. We’re going to settle down for a couple of months, the hopefully push into new markets in Southampton and Winchester.”
The duo met in Bailey Point, their first-year accommodation. Their shared love for food and cooking led them to teaming up.
Arun said: “Our passion for cooking both came out whilst we were living together. We’d have Italian nights, and Mexican nights. Loco lime started from that passion for cooking together. It’s turned out really well since then.”
