Millions of people all over the world will be celebrating the Lunar New Year with the first full moon of the lunar calendar today.
The celebration typically lasts around 15 days.
Ezra Ahn, 23, who’s celebrating, said: “It is something embedded within my culture and families get together to celebrate this precious time which makes me feel happy I can be part of this culture.”
Dancing, music, fireworks and lanterns will fill the streets in Asia during the 15 days of celebration.
A Chinese New Year celebration will take place in Bournemouth on the 8th of February, at the Sovereign Centre, from 12pm to 3pm.
Activities include dragon dance, live music and aerial performances.
