Republic Of Ireland goalkeeper Mark Travers is set to leave AFC Bournemouth as he’s due to undergo a medical at Middlesbrough today.

Travers played 70 league games for the Cherries over the past five seasons in the Championship and Premier League, during which he played all 46 games contributing to their promotion back to the top flight, however after their promotion, the Irishman has seen has since seen a decreased amount of game time, which has led to this possible loan move.

This season Travers has made five league appearances for the european chasing Cherries whilst usual starter Kepa Arrizabalaga was injured, during which he managed to save 80% of shots which were fired at him.

Middlesbrough are set to sign the keeper on a loan deal due to recent injuries with first and second-choice goalkeepers Sol Brynn and Seny Dieng.

Middlesbrough currently sit sixth in the Sky Bet Championship with 17 games left to play, could Travers be another contributor to the clubs promotion dreams?

More updates to follow.
