The NHS has revealed that Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has earned £317,000 from 2023-24.
This total comes from visitors and patients, with staff at the hospital being entitled to free parking.
Data has revealed that the trust spent £108,000 on parking services, amounting to a total £209,000 made from parking.
The hospital built a new multi-storey car park in 2022 and has introduced number plate recognition in all car parks since then.
Although Dorset County Hospital does not charge staff for parking, NHS staff across England paid over £70m in parking fees from 2023-24.
The Government introduced a funded scheme for free parking for NHS staff, and those working at Dorset County Hospital have not had to pay since.
This is in an effort to help those working at the hospital with the rising cost of living.
