The new £1.8 million TEAM SPORT Karting facility on Wallisdown Road has been open since December and has created 30 new jobs.

It features a 300-metre race track with a capacity for 14 race karts at once.

BUzz news reporter, Dylan Barker, spoke to TEAM SPORT member Peter Wilkins about how the facility is good for Bournemouth.

“Bournemouth is a summer, seaside resort but this is all year round. It’s for all ages, all capabilities and I think it’s lovely. I’m definitely coming again.”

Bar Supervisor Isabella Downs was full of praise of the new activity centre: “It’s been really busy, we’ve been non-stop.

“Everyone that comes here wants to have a good time and in a good mood when they come in; they’re excited to be here. And that’s been the lovely thing.

Going onto say she enjoys working at the facility: “The team here works together so well and that’s what makes working here enjoyable; conversating with others.

“Everyday is different and there’s always something new to be doing,” added Isabella.

This will be the national karting giant’s 38th centre in the UK and the first in the Dorset area.
