Burwood Nursing home brightens their residents’ lives with the help of Broadstone pantomime.

The home has been looking after the elderly since 1983 and opened their theatre in 2017 to give the residents the option to go to see live performances.

Paul Jessup, the owner of the nursing home and the person who built the theatre says that he did it because “Some of our residents are too poorly to go out so we brought the theatre to them.”

Broadstone Productions company have been using Burwood’s theatre for rehearsals and performances for the past 8 years and residents have always been welcome to attend.

As the pantomime season draws to a close, Broadstone and Burwood will continue working together for the foreseeable future.

“As long as we’re around and the Broadstone pantomime group are still around then it works so well,” says Paul.

Broadstone Pantomime are performing their production of Cinderella till the 18th of January.
