A petition for BCP (Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole) Council to reconsider local transport and infrastructure was launched in December.
The petition has received more than 200 signatures this week, with the total surpassing 1800 signatures.
Steve Moody, the person who began the petition, said: “£3.7 million has been spent on these schemes and as anyone can see as soon as they’re finished no one even uses them.”
“83% of people in the BCP area say they use a car regularly but only 7% say they cycle regularly.”
“Not only have we created these massive and very expensive cycle pathways, but during the construction the destruction has been massive.”
“It’s interesting, we’ve got 1200 members in our Facebook group and now 1800 signatures, so it’s not just our members signing the petition.”
Members of the group reported longer journeys all throughout Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, and have signed the petition in order to try to fix this.
