Marson will join the team in the Pirates’ attempt to defend their 2024 treble victory.

The Australian appearance on the team is only temporary, until rising star William Cairns turns 16, and can qualify for a professional licence.

Marson has a 2.00 average, and will occupy one of the reserve berths.

In a club statement, Matt Marson said “I’m excited to join Poole, it’s a great team, they prove it every year. It will be amazing to be part of a club with such a rich history.”

“I know I’m only here for a dozen or so meetings, but it’s a good opportunity to get myself in the shop window and gain more experience.”

“A few people have raised eyebrows, but who’s going to say no to more meetings and more time on the bike?”

The Speedway season will begin in April 2025.
