The public inquiry determining the proposed price increases for the Sandbanks ferry concluded yesterday.
The inquiry which started on the 22nd of January covered a variety of evidence from the ferry company and other parties.
A statement released today on the Sandbanks ferry website states that “there will now be a period of determination while the inspector considers evidence”.
There is still no current update about the prices.
The determination will be released via the company’s website and social media when a decision has been made.
If the inspector comes to the decision that the proposed changes are appropriate the current tolls will change.
The ferry company have put forward the price increases as the current ferry will need replacing by 2032.
For pedestrians or motorcycles travelling on way from Sandbanks the toll will rise by 75 pence to a total of £1.75.
Passenger vehicles carrying less than 16 people and goods vehicles less than 3,500 Kilograms will rise from £5.30 to £6.26.
Finally, passenger vehicles carrying more than 16 people and vehicles weighing more than 3,501 kilograms will see a rise from £10.60 to £12.52.
If the proposed tolls were approved, these would come into effect from the 1st of April 2025.
