Time Team to return again with new Bournemouth University partnership

Time Team originally aired in 1994, and after its TV run ended in 2014, it returned on Youtube in 2022.

The team are set to return once again on YouTube, this time in partnership with Bournemouth University.

The show involves a presenter with a team of archaeologists talking the audience through an archeological dig, and explaining the history of the site.

George Pagliero is a producer on the show, and in an exclusive interview he shared his excitement for the new season.

“We’re keeping the time team legacy going – we’re taking our digs around the world to Youtube and social media, both in hour-long specials and short clips.”

Time Team has always had a strong relationship with the archaeology department at BU, and it was through them that they met some of the media department.

“we realised there was a really interesting area where we could work with the students – they could help us make films and we could help them make archaeological TV.”

It’s been a busy week; the partnership was only agreed last Monday, and the first episode releases this coming Monday.

“We’re frantically trying to pull this show together – for some of us, we’re learning how studio TV works.”

However, the Time Team crew have had some help from the Bournemouth students.

“The guys here are fantastic, the students are amazing, and we’er hoping for a long and fruitful relationship.”

Dorset has archaeological sites scattered all over the county, and George loves sharing his enthusiasm for these discoveries through the programme.

“To almost meet people, see what they were holding in the days before their death, coming out of the soil. It’s an incredible feeling”

You can watch Time Team on Youtube, and look forward to plenty of new content releasing in the coming weeks.
