It has been a busy couple of days for the 47th president of the United States.
He has reversed a substantial amount of predecessor Joe Biden’s executive orders and has been in contact with fellow world leaders, most noticeably Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and now Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In a statement released by Russia, they said: “We are ready for an equal dialogue with President Trump”, just hours after the returning US president threatened sanctions against Moscow if it “doesn’t stop this ridiculous war.”
Unsurprisingly, Ukraine Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha said: “We do really welcome such strong messages from President Trump’ and hopes this ‘can achieve long lasting and comprehensive peace.”
