Weymouth manager Warren Feeney is feeling ‘no pressure’ despite the growing prospect of relegation from the National League South, as his side travel to Worthing on Saturday afternoon.
The Terras come into the fixture with just two league wins all season, with their last coming back in early November, and are rock bottom, eleven points from safety.
Feeney joined Weymouth on December 17th and is yet to guide his side to three points.
Despite the tricky start, the former Northern Ireland international is still feeling relaxed,
“There’s no pressure” he said. “You can’t let it get the better of you when you’re kicking a ball around a pitch, we’ve got a job to do and we’ll worry about what’s in front of us.
“We will keep what we need to do inside the changing room, and will go out and be competitive every game.”
Feeney has also spoken about what to expect from Saturday’s opposition,
“Worthing are a phenomenal team who play very very good football, some of the best in the division.
“They are where they are for a reason, they’re one of the biggest hitters and full respect to them for that, we’ve just got to concentrate.”
The Terras boss also spoke on how his side will prepare to face a team much higher up the division, he said: “We treat everyone with respect and everyone the same, whether it’s Real Madrid or Worthing.
“They’re a good side with good people and we’ll look forward to going there on Saturday.”
In the reverse fixture back in September, Weymouth held The Rebels to a 1-1 draw at The Bob Lucas Stadium.
The home side are unbeaten in the league since the 30th of November and will no doubt provide a tough test for Feeney’s side, who will be looking to record a first league win of the new year.
