AFC Bournemouth Women’s team to return to the Vitality Stadium

AFC Bournemouth Women return to action at the Vitality Stadium next week, on Wednesday the 29th October (7.45pm KO).

The Cherries are set to host Oxford United in a FA WNL Premier Division south fixture, under the lights at the premier league stadium, as the side look to extend their strong start to their maiden season in tier three. 

Helen Bleazard’s side are unbeaten in all competitions so far this campaign and sit second in the league standings. 

Despite the match against Oxford being Bleazard’s first appearance as manager in the Premier League stadium’s dugout, the former Wales international has experience on the pitch at the Vitality as an AFC Bournemouth player. 

Next Wednesday’s match will be the sixth fixture the women’s side are to play at the Vitality Stadium, with the first played in 2022. 

The Cherries maintain an undefeated record at the stadium:

 

10th April 2022 – AFC Bournemouth 4 – 1 Chesham United 

The Cherries maiden outing at the Vitality Stadium saw a hat-trick from Becki Bath and a finish from Katie James seal victory in the historic occasion. 

5th November 2023 – AFC Bournemouth 4 – 0 Portishead  

6,805 fans were in attendance for the side’s second fixture at the Premier League stadium to witness an emphatic 4-0 victory. 

Now first team manager, Helen Bleazard, was amongst the four different goalscorers. 

24th March 2024 – AFC Bournemouth 1 – 1 Keynsham Town 

A tight game at the Vitality saw Gemma Hiller’s second half strike rescue a point for the Cherries. 

Maintaining the sides undefeated record at the stadium. 

10th November 2024 – AFC Bournemouth 4 – 0 Swindon Town 

Over 6000 fans piled into the stadium as AFC Bournemouth recorded an impressive victory over league title contenders Swindon Town in their first of two fixtures at the Premier League stadium last season. 

A standout brace from Katie James sealed an impressive player of the match performance. 

23rd March 2025 – AFC Bournemouth 2 – 0 Bristol Rovers  

Last time out at the Vitality, Bournemouth Women sealed promotion from the FA Women’s National League Division One South West as league champions in a 2-0 victory over Bristol Rovers.  

Goals from Jenna Markham and Katie James secured the side promotion to tier three for the first time in the sides history. 

The landmark fixture saw over 7000 fans in attendance setting a new record.
