AUB student pushing through injury to raise hundreds at Bournemouth Half Marathon.
This Sunday an AUB student will take on the Bournemouth Half Marathon along the sea front to raise money for cancer research.
Many young people are running the event for causes close to their heart.
She aims to fundraise 400 pounds for the charity before she reaches the start line.
Hannah, 21, shared: “I’ve never ran a marathon before but the charity means a lot to me so when I saw the marathon was happening I signed up asap as I was looking for a way to fundraise”.
She decided to sign up last minute and described it as “very spontaneous” but regardless she is “grateful for the opportunity”.
“Im so glad I pushed myself to do it because the cause is so important to me”.
Her goal is to complete the marathon in around 2 hours and has been training daily on her indoor treadmill due to the weather.
She says she has hurt her knees in the process of training.
“I am in immense pain but I’m pushing through because when I set my mind to something I do it”.
She may have to walk large distances of the marathon on the day but intends to complete it regardless
Her nan has shared how proud she is of her achievements.
“I was shocked when Hannah she said she wanted to do the run as she’s never done anything of this sort”.
“Im really proud that she’s pushing through”.
The marathon course goes along the sea front, starting at Hengistbury head and ending at Bournemouth pier.
