A local Bournemouth singer-songwriter is celebrating the recent accomplishment of having one of her songs feature in an independent short film.
Beth De Bacci’s song ‘New Place, New Moment’ was used in the award winning film ‘Darcine’s Day’, directed by Aaron Goffman.
Since the films release last year, it has been featured in a number of film festivals and showcases.
The most recent event was Bournemouth’s first International Film Festival (BIFF).
De Bacci was selected to represent the short film at BIFF, which took place at the beginning of the month.
The singer said: “It was a really great event and there was some real talent in the room.”
“It was an absolute honour to be part of the experience and part of the buzz.”
“We got to celebrate talent in the film industry and the specific focus on local talent was truly amazing.”
The song ‘New Place, New Moment’ was originally part of the 2023 album ‘The Human Experience’.
It underlines the themes of change and healing in the film.
Her songs have previously been featured on well known reality TV shows such as Love Island UK and Too Hot To Handle.
“Darcine’s Day” is a milestone in her career and De Bacci feels “honoured” to have been featured in the film.
The film received the Best Music Placement award from the Simi Film Festival in Simi Valley, California.
She said: “To have my music be recognised and used in the film was a surreal experience.”
“I put a lot of work into creating the single and to see that hard work pay off is extremely gratifying.”
