‘Business as usual’ as the AFC Bournemouth Women set to face Oxford United Women

AFC Bournemouth Women put their unbeaten record on the line against Oxford United Women at the Vitality Stadium tonight at 7.45pm.

Second-placed Cherries have won five and drawn two of their seven Women’s Premier League Southern Division matches ahead of the clash with their fifth-placed visitors.

They lie just two points behind pacesetters Watford with a third of the matches played.

More than 5,000 tickets have already been sold, with the potential to break their attendance record of 7,076.

If we get it right on the night we should win again.

AFC Bournemouth Women’s manager Helen Bleazard said: “We respect every opposition in this league, but we back ourselves. We’re really looking forward to the game and if we get it right on the night we should win again.

“I’ve said that I expected to be where we are. We work really hard as a coaching team to make sure the girls are ready. I don’t think it’s a surprise as we put in the hard work to be here.

“I try to keep it business as usual ahead of a game. You get three points for a win regardless of where you play, so I try and create that narrative for the girls.

“I say to the girls we have to be really humble and grateful that we get the opportunity to be here, but while we are here, make the most of it.

“The media talk a lot about the unbeaten run – again I just go business as usual.”
