Dorset Police have announced a further decrease in overall crime over the last year. This keeps Dorset among the top 10 safest counties in the country.
It also comes as reported crimes at AFC Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium have reduced by 51% between the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons, according to Dorset Police.
The recent results outperform the national average. The data shows a 2.7% reduction in overall crime between July 2024 and June 2025.
The only measure to increase in the county is shoplifting at 11.8%, which is in line with the rest of the UK.
Deputy Chief Constable Rachel Farrell said: “There has been a 10.5% reduction in vehicle offences, a fall in residential burglary by 12.5% and business burglary down by 14.8%.”
“These reductions demonstrate a clear commitment from our teams to ensure the public are better informed on preventative measures.”
The Vitality Stadium has seen a reduction in total arrests, including anti-social behaviour, drug possession and pitch invasions.
So far this season, there have only been six reported crimes at the stadium.

Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner David Sidwick has praised officers for their hard work:
“My thanks go to all the Dorset Police officers, staff and volunteers who have worked tirelessly in challenging circumstances to deliver these results.
“I hope this sends a message that we will not tolerate criminality of any kind”.
