Sleep out on the beach is returning to Southbourne tomorrow evening for the third time, at SOBO Beach Restaurant & Bar, with Bournemouth’s Deputy Mayor Councillor George Farquhar taking part.
The event will be raising money for Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homeless charity.
As well as the Deputy Mayor taking part, 14 other people are expected to take part so far.
Founder Mark Kedgley, 56, from Canford Cliffs said: “It’s a fundraiser but the other key objective is to raise awareness of the problems facing young homeless people, so to get George along to experience what it’s like to sleep out at this time of year will hopefully increase consciousness of the issues.”
The sleep out is able to have up to 40 sleepers take part and there is no entry fee required.
As well as no entry fee, there is no minimum sponsorship amount required for the event, and every penny raised will go directly to Centrepoint.
All participants need to bring along is their own sleeping bag, a mat and some extra layers to wrap up warm during the night.
