The bonfire held at East Beach in West Bay is set to return tomorrow evening from 4pm-8pm.
The event is held annually and is organised by Bridport Round Table and West Bay Days, who are a group of volunteers that also run other well-known events around Dorset for example Pirates days.
The bonfire was first hosted in 2014 where £653 was collected for the Christmas Tree on Harbour Green.
West Bay Days are hosting a Guy Fawkes competition, which will decide who will light the bonfire this year.
The bonfire will then be lit at approximately 6pm with the impressive firework display following at 8pm.
A Volunteer from West Bay Days said,
“It will be a fun event for all to enjoy, we had a lot of positive feedback from last year’s bonfire, and we believe this year’s will be even better.”
The event also includes entertainment as the fairground is returning for another year, which is a favourite amongst younger visitors.
There will be live music from bands including ‘Howling at the Moon’ and ‘What the Phunk’ who also performed at last year’s bonfire. Music will be performed from 4pm until 9:30pm.
Visitors can also enjoy an outside bar, a barbecue, and a variety of food stalls to suit all preferences.
Every year the event has multiple sponsors; this year the sponsors include organisations such as: First Bridport Scout Group, Men’s Wellness Bridport, South West Kick Boxing, Driving Wild, Bridport rugby club under 14s, First Bothenhampton Guides, Bridport Barracudas, Friends of West Bay Discovery Centre, and Bridport Football Club.
