Hampshire fast bowler John Turner has signed a two-year contract extension which sees him stay at the Rose and Crown until the end of the 2027 season.
The 24-year-old took seven wickets in two Rothesay County Championship matches as well as five in the Vitality Blast, before he suffered a stress fracture leaving the Hampshire quick sidelined since June.
In a statement from Hampshire, John Turner said: “I’m extremely excited to have signed a new contract with Hampshire.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here over the past five seasons and feel like I’ve improved immensely with the help of all the coaches and staff.”
Turner made his competitive debut for Hampshire in the 2021 One Day Cup where he took the wicket of ex-England captain Alastair Cook.
He now has 97 wickets in 51 games across all three formats for Hampshire, including 22 in his first season in the Vitality Blast, the most for the Hawks that campaign.
With Turner’s success at Hampshire, he then earned a deal in the Hundred playing for the Trent Rockets, where he went on to feature four times in 2024.
Last year also saw Turner make his England debut in ODIs and IT20s against the West Indies, in which he took three wickets.
The England International added: “It’s an exciting time at the club, especially amongst the bowlers who are all extremely eager and driven to continue our white ball success.”
Turner will be hoping to help the club as much as possible in the 2026 campaign, with Hampshire Hawks looking to claim a fourth Vitality Blast title.
