Poole Pirates head to Glasgow in the Speedway Championships Grand Final

Reigning Speedway champions Poole Pirates are looking to defend their Speedway title as they head to Glasgow tonight for a 7:30 start, looking to build upon their positive first leg which saw the Pirates find themselves 12 points up.

The game itself is finely poised, and despite Poole going into the second leg with a healthy advantage, supporter and Speedway racer Josh Nottle tells Buzz news that Pirates will still need to be fully focused, Nottle said “A twelve-point lead is positive, but with Glasgow on home soil we can’t get complacent”

Poole will be looking to inflict more misery on Glasgow Tigers, after they knocked them out of the KO Cup in September, a cup which the Pirates went on to win.

Star racer Richard Lawson has been highlighted before the second leg tie, the Englishmen picked up a staggering 14 points out of a possible 15 in the first leg. Nottle says Lawson could be the difference maker in the tie “Richard Lawson is on the fire currently; he is racing with an abundance of confidence. If he is on form, I really believe the Pirates can do it”

The Pirates are also looking to do back-to-back trebles, after doing so last season. A feat which every Pirates fan would be dreaming of. The Dorset side are only one race from doing the unprecedented.
