Sleep out on the beach will return this October taking place at SOBO beach – bar and restaurant.
The sleep out starts at 7pm on the 25th of this month.
Founder Mark Kedgley said:
“Sleep Out is a fundraising challenge that doesn’t replicate what it’s like to sleep rough but gives an idea of the situation a lot of young people find themselves in.”
He added: “While also supporting those who face this as a reality.”
The beach sleep out can take up to 40 sleepers, however Mr Kedgley said: “22 last year, hoping to beat that this year.”
He continued: “So if you and a few mates want to join the team, then that will help!
All money raised and awareness gained, is in a bid to help youth homelessness charity – Centrepoint.
Mr Kedgley said: “As well as being a challenge, it is a great way to understand some of the realities that homeless young people face.”
A sleeping bag, a mat and a few extra layers is all you need for 1 night!
If you wish to get in involved contact the sleep out’s Instagram and Facebook pages with the username beach.sleepout.
