Multi award winning singer/songwriter Steve Knightley is due to play Poole Lighthouse on the 31st October.

He is performing at 23 different venues across the UK within this tour which begins on the 16th October.

The artist was born in Southampton and after living across England, is now a resident of East Devon he said in a recent interview he is excited to perform on a local stage with a local audience.

Knightley began his tour solo, and has recruited band members from the ‘winter yards band’ along the way, as he wanted to recreate the sound which the producers have achieved, on the road.

Knightley said:

“Working with the band is a bit more Bruce Springsteen than stuff he has done before, not in terms of grandiosity or pomp, but he has that edge with the electric guitar and percussion.”

The singer has made over 50 Glastonbury appearances and was named ‘Songwriter of the Nineties’ by BBC radio 6 in 2012 and has previously won 3 BBC folk awards.

After this tour, Knightley is doing a ‘sacred spaces tour’ around churches in England and is looking at the possibility of an autumn tour and the release of a new album in the near future.
