Storm Benjamin put a stop to the Bournemouth Poppies training session.
Strong winds and heavy rainfall saw Bournemouth Poppies move their training from Victoria Park to Hands of Stone boxing gym.
Winds getting over 40 mph saw yellow weather warnings initially being issued across England before being removed by the MET office.
Although Storm Benjamin has been causing delays, manager Phill Brown was determined to ensure the Poppies still maintained match fitness.
They did a circuit training session that included a range of exercises – shadow boxing, battle rope waves and other body weight exercises were all done to improve the strength of the players going into Saturday’s game against Petersfield Town.
The Poppies have had a massive turnaround in form, winning their last two games whilst keeping clean sheets in both.
They hadn’t won since the 19th August prior to this, and hadn’t kept a clean sheet since the 12th August.
In their win over Wincanton Town, centre-back Jonny Davis broke the deadlock moments after half-time with a header from a corner.
Midfielder Jake Cope chipped in with a special goal as he shot from outside the box and found the corner of the net to secure a 2-0 win.
Brown said: “He’s a massive asset to the club”
