The Traitors has beaten records with its new Celebrity Spin-Off.
The finale, airing on November sixth, averaged 11.1 million viewers and reached a peak of 12 million live viewers.
The last episode has become the most-watched television episode since the 2019 finale of Gavin and Stacey.
It also surpassed the live viewer count of last year’s Euro football tournament and the Strictly Come Dancing final, according to data from overnights.tv.
Guy Linton, A cameraman on The Traitors, spoke about the show’s success; “Traitors is a great format, it appeals to a multigenerational audience.”
He continued: “There are some big names in the celebrity version that are willing to take part and bring their own fan base to the screens.”
The show has been running since 2022, and its launch episode reached 2.9 million viewers.
Guy spoke about the success of the UK version of the show compared to the Australian version.
He said, “When you compare our season to the Australian Traitors that have stopped being produced, you can see it lacked production value.”
He continued, “The content was actually quite good, but it looked like it had been filmed in a Travelodge.”
The success of the traitors hasn’t stopped, with the show winning two Emmys earlier this year for both best reality show and best cinematography for a reality show.
Results of an anonymous survey said,” It’s thrilling and funny at the same time, my kids and I can laugh together.”
Another fan said, “Exciting to watch and see how the traitors and the faithful’s work together to try and win. It’s good to see the betrayal and the plot twists which come around.”
The show saw Comedian, Alan Carr win as the final traitor standing.
One viewer said, “I love Alan Carr and wanted to see him win.”
Carr was dubbed a fan favourite, with 38.9% of surveyed viewers saying they wanted him to win.
Fellow Traitor Singer, Cat Burns, was also a favourite with 24.4% of viewers naming her as the favourite.
For these fans, Burns is coming to Bournemouth.
The singer recently gained recognition for her performance on The Traitors, speaking out on her struggles with Autism and ADHD after gaining a diagnosis in 2023.
The traitor will be performing at Boscombe’s 02 Academy on April 17th, following the release of her latest album.
Bournemouth, Traitors fans who attend will hear new material and her early hits.
